The MatEd and Edmonds Community College Skilled Teacher Ambassador Resource (S.T.A.R. Corps) Corps provides teachers with a valuable resource. Members of this Corps are skilled materials science teachers who are willing to provide mentoring and assistance in teaching materials science curriculum to other teachers. As a resource for new teachers, the S.T.A.R. Corps helps find skilled and experienced teachers who are willing to share ideas and discuss what has worked best for them in the classroom; and, they can provide knowledge as to the utilization of the MatEd Core Competencies into their programs. Likewise, new and experienced teachers can benefit from visiting successful programs and labs to glean ideas and practices that could enhance their program. The S.T.A.R. Corps provides contact information for teachers/mentors that often may be from the same district or in a district nearby. |
