Materials Research Science and Engineering Centers - MRSECs

Materials Research Science and Engineering Centers (MRSECs) support interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary materials research and education of the highest quality while addressing fundamental problems in science and engineering that are important to society. More information about MRSECs

There are currently 29 MRSECs funded by the National Science Foundation.  Link to information on each MRSEC

The MRSECs offer a variety of resources that may be useful in the development of curriculum modules.  A few MRSECs include some curriculum activities or reports on high school teacher projects.  Each MRSEC has a section titles "Nuggets" which describes brief abstracts on current research highlights.  Each MRSEC also has a section on "Outreach" including  "Research Experience for Teachers (RET)".  The RET section often contains examples of teacher projects or lesson plans.

MatEd has reviewed each MRSEC web site with comments on content that may be of interest in curriculum development.
